This video is from the first Railroad Museum we visited this summer the Conneaut Railroad Historical Society Museum. We appolgise if Set pronounced Conneaut wrong.
While there are other Railroad Museum's which has loads of stuff for Railfans including operating Steam Locomotives, Excursions and other fun stuff, Conneaut is a small railroad Museum that is in the old Railroad Station in the town. With a lot of cool stuff from builder plates to numbers, The NKP 756's Headlight, a caboose to walk through, Model Train layout and of course the Museum's center Piece, The Nickel Plate Road Berkshire S-2 Class Locomotive The 755.
If your in Conneaut Ohio Make sure you check this place out.

I’m not quite sure about this, but I do believe that another person from another video that I viewed on YouTube told me that the 763 could possibly be getting fully restored back to operational status. Is this indeed true, or is the 765 going to be the only current operational Nickel Plate Road “S2” class Berkshire?
Customer
Andrew Lieb I think that may have been the initial case before jerry joe Jacobson sold the Ohio Central. They said on an Instagram post about the 6325 that it was too big for there needs right now. I believe that is smaller then the 763 so I can’t imagine them restoring it. But will see.

i loved going there years ago

It is a cool place!
Customer
You pronounced Conneaut correctly!! Congrats!
Customer
Bessemer & Lake Erie 902 you know no one has ever corrected us either! This is the first time we’ve gotten feed back one way or another if we got it right! So thank you!
Customer
It is actually 755 not 767
Customer
Trains Of Kansas really? Had no idea! I just re-watched this and mentioned it was the 755 multiple times. However when this was made 765 was renumbered “767” and regained the mars light which is why I commented on that in the video.

This locomotive is beautiful. I saw the Nickel Plate Road 779 yesterday and 755 is in MUCH better shape. And 779 has a roof covering it so I find this quite surprising
Customer
Yep there was a facebook post shortly after Steam In The Valley that year about the crew taking parts from the 779!
Customer
Action Set & Go! Railfanning & Other Cool Stuff I have heard that too. I heard 779 is 765’s donor engine and parts are taken from it
Customer
Well I think the 755 has gotten painted over the years. I seem to remember reading something about one time when the 765’s crew needed parts the museum let them swap them with 755’s with the exception of painting the 755.

Nkp 757 is amazing now
Customer
I remember over 45 yrs ago now, when the 765( at that time wearing the number 767) was displayed just like the 755. Only the City of Fort Wayne had the 765’s head and running lights rigged to come on at dusk. It was a cool display, but of course we all would rather have things as they are today. Perhaps someday fate will shine upon the 755 as well.
Customer
755 is in pretty good shape. It actually looks like they paint her every few years. With it being restored i do doubt that. They have taken many parts out of her for the 765. The only other NKP Berkshire i knew that was under restoration was the 763 at the Age of Steam. But seeing how Jerry Joe Jacobson died this past september and my understanding is his steam engines haven’t ran in a while i believe it will remain a cosmetic restoration but will see!

Another NKP Berk , Another piece of history being beautiful ??
Customer
ell, thanks for the video. I hope the museum gets progressive and rebuilds the Bershire for operation! Now that’ll be something.
Customer
caje dos your welcome! don’t think it will happen. Her sister already is already in operation and has borrowed many parts from 755. There is also another Berkshire in operation the 1225, and the C&O variant 2716 is also being restored to operation as well.
Customer
I love Nickel Plate Berkshire locomotive #755!!!
